An artifact is a Legion weapon with progression and appearances of its own. Its abilities relate to the specialization. When changing roles, check that you equip the matching weapon; this article is not a class ranking.

Check how to obtain your artifact

In original Legion, the first artifact started with a quest for a level-100 character. A private realm can change the starting process or grant the weapon differently. Check the quest log and project instructions; before contacting support, record your specialization, level and last quest name. Avoid abandoning the chain at random.

Artifact Power and Artifact Knowledge

Artifact Power develops the weapon; Artifact Knowledge affects the rate of gaining power. They are separate parameters. Early original Legion used class-hall research for Knowledge. On a 7.3.5 realm, check the actual mechanism and current content stage before looking for old research orders.

Record a short character checklist to decide what to do next without assuming a universal shortcut.

• Which specialization is active, and which weapon is equipped?
• What progression rank does the artifact interface show?
• What Knowledge level applies, and where does the project document it?
• Which content stages are open, and are artifacts customized?
• Compare a new trait with your goal: dungeons, raids or PvP. Priorities from another patch need checking.
