Mechanics: original Legion 7.3.5. Check numerical values, item availability and custom changes in your realm’s client and rules.

Choosing a profession

For gathering compare herbs, ore and leather by return per hour of your playtime.
For crafting compare consumables, enchants and gems with recipe ranks and sales volume.
Start with a small batch and record cost, sale time and unsold inventory.

Checking crafting cost

Cost = sum of (reagent quantity × purchase price) + additional expenses. Profit = proceeds after fees − cost. Self-gathered materials also have value: compare selling raw materials with crafting. Check actual sales rather than listed auctions alone.

Practical playbooks are written by the portal editors. Check the patch before using current tables: numerical values after item-level squishes do not belong to Legion.
