Getting started
Mining reduces dependence on purchased ore.
- Complete the initial Dalaran blacksmith questline to unlock core recipes.
- For expensive armor improve ranks first and check Blood of Sargeras requirements.
- Separate armor, travel consumables and Obliterum inputs as different markets.

Before spending
Crafted armor level and upgrade limits depend on the patch and realm progression.
Ranks and leveling in Legion
Original 7.3.5 uses an overall profession cap of 800. Many Legion recipes have three ranks. Check the next rank’s source in Unlearned: quests, reputation, a boss or vendor. Modern expansion-separated skill systems do not apply here.
